On Saturday 18th April, the team at Trafficwerx NT had the opportunity to be part of the Darwin Safety Expo, a community event designed to bring safety awareness, education and connection together under one roof.
Hosted by Neighbourhood Watch NT, the free, family-friendly expo welcomed Territorians to explore practical ways to stay safe at home, online and in everyday life.

A One-Stop Community Safety Event in Darwin
Held at Marrara Netball Stadium, the Darwin Safety Expo brought together local organisations, emergency services and safety providers to create a truly interactive experience for the community.
The event focused on improving safety awareness and preparedness, giving attendees the chance to learn, ask questions and connect directly with experts.
From reptile encounters to anti-scam training, the expo delivered a wide range of activities designed to educate and engage people of all ages. Families, local residents and businesses all came together with a shared goal – building a safer, more connected Northern Territory.

How Trafficwerx NT Showcased Traffic Management
For Trafficwerx NT, the day was all about making traffic management practical, interactive and (most importantly) engaging.
At our stall, we focused on giving people a hands-on experience of what we do every day on site, including:
- Multi Message Sign demonstrations
- Traffic cone challenges
- Stop/Slow bat games
- Interactive traffic management activities
These activities gave attendees a chance to step into our world and better understand the importance of traffic control in keeping both workers and the public safe.
It wasn’t just about watching, it was about getting involved, asking questions and learning through experience.

Sun Safety and Community Engagement
We also had a range of sun-safe prizes up for grabs, helping to reinforce an important message for life in the Northern Territory – staying protected while working and living in high-risk environments.
Throughout the day, our team had the chance to connect with so many people from across the community. Whether it was a quick chat, a game or a demo, every interaction helped raise awareness about the role traffic management plays in everyday safety.

Supporting a Safer, Stronger Northern Territory
The Darwin Safety Expo is part of a broader mission by Neighbourhood Watch NT to create safer, more connected communities through education and engagement.
Events like this play a crucial role in:
- Sharing practical safety knowledge
- Encouraging community participation
- Connecting people with local services
- Promoting proactive safety behaviours
For Trafficwerx NT, being part of initiatives like this aligns directly with our commitment to safety, not just on worksites, but across the wider community.

Thank You to the Darwin Community
We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who attended the Darwin Safety Expo and took the time to visit our stall.
From those who jumped into our traffic management games to those who stopped by for a chat, we genuinely appreciate your support.
We’d also like to recognise all the other stallholders and organisers who made the day such a success. It was an incredible example of what can happen when community, industry and safety professionals come together with a shared purpose.
The success of the Darwin Safety Expo highlights just how valuable these events are for the Northern Territory.
At Trafficwerx NT, we’re proud to play a role in promoting safety, raising awareness and supporting our community and we’re already looking forward to the next one.
